A third photograph of the same Fly Agaric Amanita muscaria taken later on the next day after an additional 31 hours.
The cap has expanded and the partial veil has ruptured. Its remains are undamaged and can be seen hanging down the stipe.
Unfortunately, there was a period of heavy rain before this photograph was taken and much of the white flecking on the cap has washed off. This is quite common and pure red caps are often encountered. They also tend to fade to a dull orange colour making identification a little less obvious.
