Welcome to Moorend Nature
I have a long-standing interest in natural history and conservation. In 2005, I redesigned Journal of the Hardy Orchid Society and was its editor until 2025. I rebuilt the Hardy Orchid Society website which currently I maintain whilst a new webmaster becomes established. After several years editing the Norfolk Butterfly Conservation Newsletter I became Conservation Officer with the Norfolk Branch and more recently its chairman.
I have worked as a volunteer with the Woods & Heaths team of Norfolk Wildlife Trust (NWT), undertaking a variety of habitat management and wildlife monitoring activities. Two web-adapted articles, originally commissioned by NWT and published in the Eastern Daily Press, illustrate my interests in orchids and butterflies.
